Community Garden - Kingsville
The Youth & Family Resource Network of Essex County implemented a community garden in 2011. The garden is located next to our head office in Kingsville.
The purpose of our garden is to provide fresh produce, a sense of community, a connection to the environment and food security. The garden is also intended to promote a healthy lifestyle through vegetable consumption, exercise and fresh air.
The YFRN's plan is to maintain a vegetable and herb garden that will provide food for people who are in need in our community. The volunteers are encouraged to take home fresh produce as well. The people who express a need (our clients, participants and food bank users) will remain priority. We can also make arrangements to bring fresh produce to those who have limited transportation.
The success of this ongoing project will require dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers and staff members. We look forward to engaging community volunteers. If you are interested in donating supplies, volunteering in the garden, or if you would like more information, contact:
