START Program
If you live in Windsor-Essex and want to save money for:
Unique OpportunityThis is a pilot program being offered in only three communities in Ontario and Windsor-Essex is very lucky to be part of the project. Participants will receive individual support, financial literacy training, and budgeting help to encourage regular monthly savings. All eligible savings will be matched 3:1 up to $2400!
Participants must commit to opening a (free!) savings account and depositing as little as $10/month. Participants may choose to save for any amount of time between 6 and 18 months, after which their savings will be matched 3:1. That means if you save $200, you will get an extra $600. If you save $500, you will get an extra $1500. If you manage to save $800 or more, you will get $2400 to use towards your education, housing, or entrepreneurship goals. There is a list of approved purposes for spending of grant funds; contact Kelly Udell for more information.
Who is Eligible? START program eligibility requirements include income limits and social housing eligibility. If you live in social housing or are on the waiting list, you very likely qualify for the program! Even if you are not considered low-income, you may still be eligible to participate. Contact Kelly Udell for more information or to discuss your specific situation.
Please note there is a limited number of spaces available for the program. Don't miss out; call today!
