Voices of Youth In Community (VOYC)
VOYC is a youth engagement program designed for participants starting in high school up to the age of 24 who live in the Essex County Area. VOYC will cover a wide range of interests and activities starting in September and conclude in June with a special event.
Starting in September, VOYC will be holding group activities and meetings two times per month in each of the communities of Harrow, Kingsville and Leamington. Meetings include mentor support, special guests, youth lead community engagement activities, personal skill development and network opportunities to buiild contacts for future references.
The participants of the program have developed their own motto:
"VOYC is a place to be"
BE yourself without judgment
BE engaged in your community and help others
BE active in social issues
BE part of a group that supports individuality
BE where you can make friends and have fun
BElieve in yourself and build confidence
BEcome a leader and make a difference
VOYC provides an excellent opportunity for high school students to earn volunteer hours that will look great on a resume!
VOYC is looking for individuals who are willing to donate their time toward becoming a mentor. Mentors must be at least 25 years of age.
